About Cassy & Co
Dog training with heart, humour, and real-life results
Hi, I’m Alistair – dog training instructor and your partner in paws. At Cassy & Co., I help families train their puppies and dogs using positive, reward-based methods that build skills, boost confidence, and strengthen your bond. No harsh corrections. No confusion. No fluff. Just kind, science-backed training that works — and works with your dog, not against them.

What We Do
(and Why It Works)
Training with me is a bit like a great recipe:
- Easy-to-follow steps
- Real-life ingredients such as toys and treats
- A pinch of patience and a dash of fun
We cover:
- Loose lead walking (without the shoulder strain)
- Puppy biting and toilet training
- Recall you can rely on
- Understanding your dog’s body language
- Confidence-building games & exercises
- Calm, focused behaviour in everyday life
You’ll come away with skills, not gimmicks, and a dog who genuinely enjoys learning with you.
Why Cassy & Co?
Named after my own cute Cocker Spaniel, Cassy & Co., and is built on the idea that dog training should feel like a team effort — not a battle. I started out walking dogs, which sparked my curiosity about their behaviour, and eventually became a certified instructor. Since then, I’ve helped families understand their dogs better and make lasting change — through clarity, consistency, and a bit of humour. Whether it’s playful recall games or finally cracking that lead-pulling issue, I’ll support you with manageable plans that fit into your life.
I established Cassy & Co in 2013 as a dog walking business, covering the villages of Blanefield, Killearn & Drymen, just north of Glasgow. Working with many varied breeds such as Jack Russells, Labradoodles, and German Pointers, I’ve loved how individual each dog’s personality is with their unique quirks and preferences. Such fascinating, intelligent, goofy, amazing animals!
Over the last 3 years, I have been working hard in the background, juggling studying and dog walking to develop skill and knowledge of non-forceful training methods and the effective results that they offer. In an unregulated industry, every dog trainer is responsible for his/her/their own knowledge base. I try to incorporate all aspects of general training, behaviour, and diet in my studies. I am:
- A student trainer with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT)
- Class assistant at Cambuslang Dog Training Club
I also hold 4 canine-related qualifications and currently study canine nutrition (finish Spring 2026) and have studied extensively with a variety of canine training providers, including:
- IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Training)
- School of Canine Science
- APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers)
- Sarah Whitehead’s Think Dog!
- Compass Education
- iPet Network
I’ve attended a wide range of workshops, seminars, webinars and courses, all as part of a rigorous programme of continuing professional development that ensures I stay up to date with the latest research and how we can best apply that research to training techniques, whilst having fun with our dogs through games and exercises. However, no one can know everything. If I feel that I’m not suited to you and your dog, I will refer you to another local trainer to make sure you get the support you need.
